Why we started

A simple idea: make counter standards easier to teach than to forget

zanotrivo began in 2021 after watching the same pattern repeat in confectionery retail: a counter looks excellent right after a refresh, then drift sets in once the rush hits. Displays become “whatever fits,” facings slip, and staff spend time debating where items belong instead of following a clear system.

The problem was not effort—it was the lack of a repeatable method. Many teams were taught good presentation as a one-off tidy, not as a daily routine with simple rules. We built zanotrivo as a set of short drills and checklists that map to real shift moments: opening, the mid-day reset, and close. That way, standards don’t rely on one person’s taste or memory.

The training is brand-neutral. It focuses on counter readability, packaging-facing discipline, and planogram thinking that works with the fixtures you already have.

Our mission

Train your candy counter to sell more with color, layout, and presentation confidence.

How we define “good”

  • Readable: customers can scan and choose without asking staff to translate the shelf.
  • Maintainable: standards fit into a busy day and don’t require long “perfecting” sessions.
  • Consistent: zoning, labels, and facings look the same regardless of who is on shift.

Practitioner terms you will hear in the course

We teach in plain retail language and use terms that staff can repeat consistently: planogram, facings, shelf-edge labels, recovery routine, and zone ownership.

Team

The people shaping the curriculum

We build lessons around what happens on a counter when the shop is busy: replenishment timing, packaging that doesn’t stack neatly, and the reality of staff handovers. The focus stays practical and teachable.

HS

Harper S., Retail Presentation Lead (VM Certificate)

Harper has spent 9 years translating visual merchandising principles into shift-friendly routines for confectionery and dessert counters. Her specialty is counter zoning that stays stable even when product mix changes mid-week. She is known for “one-minute audits” that help teams spot drift without stopping service.

In the course, Harper leads planogram basics, shelf-edge label rules, and the recovery routine structure.

NP

Noah P., Training Designer (CIPD Level 3)

Noah has 8 years of experience building training that works in busy retail environments—short lessons, clear standards, and assessments that feel like real work. He focuses on habit design: how to make a checklist actually used on a Saturday, not just filed away.

In zanotrivo, Noah shapes the module pacing, drill instructions, and handover note templates.

EL

Eden L., Packaging & Display Coach (Food Retail Ops)

Eden has worked 10 years in food retail operations, with a focus on packaging formats that fight gravity: bags that slump, jars that roll, and mixed carton depths that create messy edges. Her strength is turning “looks tidy” into rules staff can repeat, including safe stacking and front-edge alignment.

Eden leads the packaging presentation lessons and the “mixed-format wall” refresh drill.
